This is my first photoshoot, what should I know?
Don’t worry! Your session will be relaxed, fun, and all about capturing your family as you are. I’ll guide you naturally, so you don’t need to worry about posing perfectly. It’s normal to feel a little nervous, but the best photos happen when you’re comfortable, enjoying the moment, and connecting with each other. Just come as you are, wear clothes you feel confident in, and let me take care of the rest!
Are travel costs included in your packages?
Travel within the Perth Hills, specifically the Mundaring area where I’m based, is included in all session packages. For locations outside this area, additional travel fees may apply, but I’ll always discuss any extra costs with you upfront so there are no surprises.
Can you recommend any good locations?
Absolutely! I know the Perth Hills and Mundaring area quite well and can suggest a variety of beautiful locations that suit your family’s style—whether you’re looking for open fields, scenic bushland, or quiet, natural spots. I’ll help choose a location that feels comfortable, relaxed, and perfect for capturing genuine moments.
Can siblings or extended family be included in the session?
Yes! Siblings and other family members can usually be included, but it can depend on the session package you choose. Some packages are designed for smaller groups, while others allow for larger families. Good news...you don't have to be! Most people feel a little awkward in front of the camera (you’re not alone). I’ll guide you throughout the photoshoot to help you relax, and just be yourself. My job is to create a fun, comfortable space so we can capture the real, natural you — no pressure or posing needed.
"What if my kids don’t cooperate or act shy?"
Don’t worry—this is one of the most common concerns! It’s completely normal to feel anxious, whether you have a newborn, toddler, or older child—a little chaos is part of the fun. I make sessions playful and relaxed, guiding your family naturally while letting genuine moments unfold. Kids are great at being in the moment, which makes for the best photos.
"what do we wear?!"
Most importantly, wear what makes you feel confident and comfortable—when you feel good, it shows in your photos.” Choose clothes that are easy to move in, with soft fabrics, simple patterns, and neutral, earthy tones. Coordinating colors looks great, but you don’t need to match perfectly. Practical shoes and minimal accessories can add personality, but the focus is on your family and genuine moments. “WHAT ABOUT BLEMISHES OR IMPERFECTIONS?”
It always seems that the day of the photoshoot is when a blemish appears, but don’t worry! I can make subtle, natural edits that will make you forget it was ever there. Just let me know on the day if you would like any extra editing done.
"What happens if the weather isn’t great?"
I always have a backup plan! If an outdoor session isn’t possible, we can reschedule or choose a covered location. My priority is making sure your session is safe, enjoyable, and still produces beautiful images.
"how long will it take to receive our photos?"
I know you’re excited to see your photos! Your gallery is usually ready within 2–3 weeks. Each photo is carefully edited to capture the genuine moments and connections from your session. Editing takes time because I want every image to look its absolute best, but I’ll get them to you as soon as possible so you can start enjoying your memories.
